Faith is an adventure!

We call our Kids’ Ministry Kidventure because our faith is an adventure! We strive to create an environment that is a happy place for both you and your child. When kids come to Lake Forest Church they are cared for by nurturing, trained leaders and find a connection to God and friends in fun, safe and engaging environments.
Our goal is to partner with parents in the spiritual development of their children – to love your kiddos as they discover and live out their role in God’s story.

Our Values

Early Childhood (Babies – Preschool)
Our little ones experience God’s love in tangible ways like snuggles in a rocking chair, imaginative play, silly songs, age-specific activities and lessons from the Bible. Your child will always be welcomed by dedicated, friendly folks who do everything possible to help bring smiles (we’ve also been known to make bribes using Goldfish crackers).
What to Bring: If you are checking a child into the nursery (babies, toddlers and twos) please bring a bag with diapers, wipes, a change of clothes, bottles, cups, pacifiers and anything else you think your child might need. Please make sure to have everything marked with your child’s name; if items are not marked, we will not be able to give to your child.
Elementary Program (K-5th Grade)
We use interactive songs, skits and videos to explain the “big idea” for the month – like patience. Kids also come together in grade-specific small groups to dig deeper into the lessons, play games and get creative. Because we strive for consistent small group guides (leaders), kids can build relationships with caring adults and know they can ask questions to help them process what they are learning.
In the spring of their 5th grade year
Kids are invited to attend our Foundations Class to explore more about what it means to be a follower of Jesus!

Safety First

It’s important to us that you feel your kiddo is in good hands so that you can participate in worship distraction and worry free. Every person who works with children at LFC must first pass a background check and receive proper training.
When you arrive, we’ll check your child into the appropriate program using our computer kiosks, get to know him or her and introduce you to the guides they will be staying with during service. Parents and kids receive matching identification tags that allow us to note any allergies or special needs your child may have, page you during the service if needed and to ensure only you can pick up your child after service. It’s a good idea to arrive at least 10 minutes before service starts to make sure we can get you settled in without feeling rushed.

Your Child’s Health

For the protection of all Kidtropolis kiddos and guides, we ask that you please do not place your child in our program while they are experiencing the following conditions: recent cold (four days or less), fever, rash, persistent cough, diarrhea or any other signs of illness.

Are you eager to make a difference?

Join our Kidventure team of “Guides” by providing a nurturing and dynamic environment to learn about and experience God in our Early Childhood and Elementary programs (infants – 5th grade). There’s opportunity to greet and check-in families, lead small groups, provide technical support, sing, act, or create as you partner with parents on the spiritual growth of their children.

If you have a heart for leading children and are eager to share God’s lessons and love, we hope you will consider a role in Kidventure.
