Jesus gives us the power and command to “go” make disciples and care for those in need. Therefore, Lake Forest Church joins the Missio Dei (mission of God) by engaging in the lives of vulnerable people; the homeless and homebound, orphans and widows and the unreached and overlooked. Our goal is to share God’s love with our actions and words.
We offer several opportunities to serve locally with our partner ministries, participate on short-term, cross-cultural mission trips, and send others with your prayers and financial support.
Whether you volunteer in a local partner ministry, serve alongside a pastor in another country, or form a long-term relationship with a local family who is economically or culturally different, you are becoming the hands and feet of Jesus.
If you would like to learn more or speak with a Missio Dei team member, please reach out via email: missionslfcw@lakeforest.org
The Missio Dei is God’s mission to call all peoples to Himself through the global church. Jesus calls His church to be on the Missio Dei every day wherever we are, and He also commands us to GO and join God’s mission in other cultures and places.
Short-term mission trips are spiritual-growth accelerators and will be most transformational to those who understand their trip as a part of a much larger story of God’s mission as it is written in the Scriptures and in their every-day lives. Our goal is that everyone within the Lake Forest tribe will be engaged in cross-cultural mission work as a way to discover and live out their role in God’s story.
