Nathan Storey

Worship Director
Nathan’s primary responsibility here at lake Forest is to encourage people to seek God and experience Him through music. Nathan has been on staff at Lake Forest since 2015, and he loves getting to bring people together through music. He says, “Music is such a powerful tool for us to use in our pursuit of God. Building a team and going on a journey together towards the goal of meeting God in worship is wonderful. I love that I get to do that with others and then we in turn encourage more people to come along with us.”
On a typical Sunday, Nathan is on stage playing songs or in the green room drinking coffee with the team in-between services. Nathan’s God Story is full of times that God reminded him of His faithfulness. He says, “there are so many moments in life that I have felt God tapping me on the shoulder and letting me know He was there.”
Nathan’s hope is that through the work he gets to do at our church, he can help people to notice the moments of God’s faithfulness in their own lives; moments where He has been there even if it wasn’t obvious.
Nathan grew up in Wilmington, NC but has lived in the Charlotte area for the last decade. He and his wife, Laura, have a five-year old son named Shepherd and a 3-legged puppy named Buster. Fortunately, Nathan and Laura have a lot of family nearby. Both of their parents live nearby, and Nathan’s twin sister, Shannon (who you will also often find leading worship at our church) and her family live in the same neighborhood.
Nathan loves songwriting and playing music out with friends. He also loves games and has a large board game collection. On a typical day off, Nathan is at home with his family drinking coffee and playing games.
